Consecration of eight new deaconesses and deacons of Diakonissen Speyer

On Reformation Day (31st October 2023), 8 new Deaconesses and Deacons from the Diakonissen Speyer reflected on their faith and current issues in diaconia, after having completed their 1.5 year training for voluntary service.

On 12th November 2023, 12 sisters and brothers were welcomed into the Diakoneo Community Neuendettelsau.

Launch of new book
Das Leipziger Diakonissenhaus: Die Geschichte einer Schwesternschaft und ihres Krankenhauses by Fruzsina Müller (published September 2023)
On 27th November 2023, a presentation was made of the book about the history of the sisterhood and the hospital of Leipziger Diakonissenhaus was made in Leipzig. The Deaconess Hospital in Leipzig-Lindenau has been caring for residents of the heavily industrialized and densely populated western urban areas since 1900. This book is a homage to the hundreds of women who served the Deaconess House for a total of 130 years, provided professional nursing and health care, looked after children, looked after the elderly, offered nursing training, assisted in operations and some were even sent to Brazil. Casa Matriz Motherhouse, São Leopoldo

The sisterhood of Casa Matriz welcomed Diaconal Sister Roselene Conrath and Pastor Simonie Runge. Casa Matriz is the Mother House of Deaconesses and also the headquarters of the Evangelical Lutheran Brotherhood. Founded on May 17, 1939, it maintains Lar Moriá and the accommodation sector for visitors and meetings.

On 7th November 2023, the Diaconesses de Reuilly named Sr. Anne Blanzat as their next Superior, to be inaugurated on 28 April 2024.
