Deacon Saints – a calendar
Ormonde Plater prepared a Calendar of Deacon Saints (2015), with more than 200 deacon saints which have been assembled from many sources, including Anglican, Catholic, Orthodox, and Lutheran calendars, and numerous other religious and secular sites. He developed the calendar from the original listing which was the work of Sister Teresa, CSA, formerly a deaconess (and later deacon) and now a priest of the Church of England. His definition of a ‘saint’ is simple: ‘I am a committee of one and make decisions rapidly. If you’re a dead deacon, of good reputation, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, you’re eligible‘.
