Hi Folks,
I looked again at the history of DIAKONIA and was a little disturbed. It is not up tod date on the current Executive and missing much history in the section. I wonder if the Executive would consider setting up an Archives committee. Members would not have to be part of the Executive but have a mandate to ensure our history is complete. So much is missing. I would be pleased to be part of that committee and could suggest others from the various regions that could help fill in the blanks. The origin story of DIAJKONIA is really important.
I am Chair of Diakonia of the United Church of Canada Archives committee and we are discovering so much of our history is missing. It is important for our students and others to know who we are. It would also be good to have a theological statement for that Archives as well as a mandate.
